The Augustinus Hospitals, which are operating numerous health care institutions with more than 2,000 staff members in the metropolitan area of Neuss, were founded by the Augustinian Sisters and the Alexian Brothers of Neuss.

These institutions until recently maintained independent websites on widely different platforms, e.g. Typo 3, Movable Type 3 and even a solution based upon Dreamweaver templates. Now, all these sites had to be integrated into a single system. Additionally, the intranet site should also be operated by this system. Thus CMS Laurin was chosen.

The demands on security were great because intranet contents should by no means be accessible via the internet. Therefore, CMS Laurin was divided into an editorial server on the internal network and a webserver in the DMZ. In order to prevent the intranet from being replicated into the DMZ, CMS Laurin was customized as to being able to replicate the websites individually into the DMZ, and the intranet application has been excluded from this replication mechanism.

Altogether, about 12 websites as well as the intranet site should initially be administrated by CMS Laurin. The total contents then amount to about 2,000 pages.
