| 10.08.2004 New statistics quantify the success of an Internet presence Cekom offers a new evaluation module to give clients more clarity about their Web pages Every CMS Laurin package contains a statistical module which provides information about the number of visitors to Internet pages. This module has now been reworked and significantly expanded. The evaluation is updated daily so that (for example) you can directly follow the success of an advertising campaign. A new identification function often makes it possible for you to find out where the visitors came from so you'll know who is interested in your Internet pages. The module also includes a statistic about the visitors' countries of origin. A language switch lets you call up the statistics in German or English. Also new: improved recognition of robots and spiders. Robots and spiders are programs (e.g. from search engines) that visit and register Internet pages. In most cases, this is desirable, because pages that have a good placement in a search engine are be more llikely to be found. But the module also lets you identify spiders that competitors have sent out to run through the Internet pages. Call-ups of this sort are listed separately in the evaluation so that these automatic page call-ups don't falsify the numbers of real human visitors. The numbers are very reliable because we've been able to significantly improve the recognition rate for the sources of page call-ups. Naturally, all of the usual, standard evaluations are also included: for example, statistics about the times of day or week, recurrent visitors, duration of visit, originating and exiting pages, search words which have led visitors to these pages, which operating system and browser was used, etc. Although it offers many items of information, the new evaluation module is nonetheless clearly and synoptically structured. Each partial statistic is accompanied by a "help" text which instantly appears when you run your mouse's cursor across the title. All of these features enable you to evaluate and accurately improve the success of an Internet presence. It also makes visible the changes that occur in the course of time. The new evaluation is therefore a valuable tool which can help you get maximal use from your Internet presence. |
