The test phase for the new file manager in CMS Laurin has been completed and this convenient Laurin expansion is already working in the first systems. It now offers users an even more convenient way to administrate all sorts of files, e.g. images, PDF files, or templates.

The file manager creates order amidst the chaos of files, hundreds of which are often needed for a single Internet presence. For example, files can be classified according to various categories, descriptions and keywords. Simply entering the desired category, description or keyword lets you readily find the files you need – without lengthy searching. Rapid results are ensured by high-performance filters, which even support a free-text search option.

Furthermore, the file manager also shows all of the important attributes, e.g. the size of a PDF file or the resolution of an image; these data appear automatically in a preview. And a few mouse clicks are all it takes to upload new files. If you need a large number of new files, you can upload them all together as a packaged ZIP archive. The file manager unpacks the archive, directly inserts keywords and categories (if desired), and deposits the files at the proper locations in the system.

The operation remains simple. You needn’t worry about where individual files are stored. And you needn’t remember any index structures. The file manager automatically takes care of these details for you. For example, if you want to add a picture, the file manager recognizes your intention and automatically shows you nothing but image files. This way, you’ll always have a clear overview.
